{"id":142,"date":"2013-05-08T20:07:10","date_gmt":"2013-05-09T03:07:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/creativevj.com\/lucky\/?page_id=142"},"modified":"2024-03-19T01:50:41","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T08:50:41","slug":"front-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/creativevj.com\/lucky\/","title":{"rendered":"Audri Phillips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>360 and 180 interactive immersive specialist, director\/ digital artist\/3D animator for content design and performance creation.<\/p>\n<p>It was probably as I&nbsp;was performing \u201cMigrations\u201d in a dome in 2011&nbsp;after years of making animations designed to be projected onto single screens that&nbsp;I discovered&nbsp;the thrill of creating interactive immersive performances. In the past years I have also discovered how much fun it is to create VR pieces and project onto buildings. Collaborating with other artists, dancers, composers, musicians is also a great pleasure. Putting together a trusted team to work on a large project just adds to the fun.<\/p>\n<p>I call myself a visual poet because like the best of poetry I want to create a rich, space, environment to dwell in, taking the visible into the invisible, that will facilitate participation and contemplation. Immersive media is a gift in terms of creating this type of space. &nbsp;Metaphor is important to me. I am passionate about striving to create art that reflects the beauty, power, mystery and perhaps absurdity of the relentlessly creative universe we live in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Audri Phillips is a visualist\/3d animator based out of Los Angeles. Starting out as a painter she was quickly drawn to time based art. Always interested in using new tools she has been a pioneer of using computer animation\/art in experimental film work including immersive performances, NFTs, and virtual worlds.&nbsp; She enjoys creating content\/ animations and paintings for single screen, multi screen, domes, immersive environments, dance performances, on location experiences, projection mapping, virtual worlds, performance spoken word (VJ Style).<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">&nbsp;2023 and 2024 has been a time of making music videos for Steve Roach, and Winter Lazerus with more videos for other artists being made now. It has also been a time of exploring artificial intelligence in terms of content creation.&nbsp; 2023 also saw the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ladiesofcourage.com\/\">Ladies of Courage Festival<\/a> that she produced and directed in West Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">A number of Full Dome pieces in 2022&nbsp; were selected for <a href=\"https:\/\/fulldome-festival.de\/program\">Jena<\/a>, \u201cthe Void\u201d and \u201cRandom Love\u201d. The \u201cVoid\u201d was also selected For SAT in 2022. \u201cRukh\u201d with composer Karem Malicki-Sanchez&nbsp; selected for DFW 2021 was awarded&nbsp; Best Entertainment. &nbsp; Two music video&nbsp; VR pieces were selected for the&nbsp; Fivars 2021 online Festival, \u201cSpiral of Strength\u201d with composer Steve Roach, and \u201cRukh\u201d with composer Karem Malicki-Sanchez.&nbsp; Her full dome piece, \u201cMigrations\u201d was selected for DTLA 2019. She was a producer\/artist for the virtual world <a href=\"https:\/\/www.searchlight.art\/domance\">Domance<\/a> 2021.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Currently she is directing and creating all the visual&nbsp; content for <a href=\"http:\/\/robotprayers.com\/\">\u201cRobot Prayers\u201d.<\/a> Robot Prayers is a trans-media project which explores AI and our hybrid identities in a world where man and machine are melding. It is a techno conscious sci fi fantasy filled with ever evolving virtual and real characters seeking the truth of who they are.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">She performed an immersive show of her visuals with the well known composer\/musician Steve Roach at a concert in the Vortex dome produced by Vortex Immersion and The Art of Sound. Other recent immersive dome shows include \u201cRelentless Universe\u201d with the talented&nbsp;Cellist&nbsp;composer Francois le Roux at a Red Bull event,&nbsp;\u201cMigrations\u201d in which she collaborated with composer No\u2019a Winter Lazerus and \u201cBlue Apple\u201d in which she collaborated with Stefan Wenta, choreographer and his dance company. She collaborated with the Maura Townsend dance company in 2016&nbsp;for an interactive performance&nbsp;at Highways Theater in Santa Monica California. She created animated content for the dome show for the TV series, \u201cConstantine\u201d shown at the 2014 Comic-Con convention. Several of her Fulldome pieces, \u201cMigrations\u201d and \u201cRelentless Beauty\u201d have been&nbsp;juried into \u201cCurrents\u201d The Santa Fe International Film Festival and the Jena Full dome Festival in Germany, and she was invited to show several of her dome pieces at the 2016 Imersa Summit.&nbsp; Her fulldome piece, \u201cMigrations\u201d was juried into the 2019 DTLA film festival. Her VR &nbsp;work can be found in the Samsung Independent Milk Channel.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Her work has also been shown at such places as; The Young Projects Gallery, The Los Angeles Film Forum at the Egyptian Theater, Imersa Summit,Siggraph Animation Festival, Full Dome Festival, Siggraph Video Review, Not Still Art Film Festival, with the Louise Reichlin Dance company and others. Besides numerous galleries her paintings have been shown in Madonna\u2019s \u201cOpen Your Heart\u201d video, The Beastie Boys, \u201cShadrach\u201d(which she also art directed) and \u201cWhatsupwitu\u201d an Eddie Murphy, Michael Jackson animated video(which she also art directed), and Konchalosky\u2019s \u201cShy People\u201d.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Audri has worked for over 20 years as an artist\/digital artist in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. Besides giving her credits on numerous feature films working in the entertainment industry has given her a knowledge of computer animation\/visual effects that she has been able to use to advantage in her visual poetry work. She has worked at such major studios as Disney Feature Animation, Sony Imageworks, DreamWorks Feature Animation, Rhythm and Hues, Digital Domain, and Electronic Arts as well as a number of small design boutiques. Her production experience includes cgi art direction\/design\/visual development \/storyboards\/color and lighting\/efx\/layout\/animation\/modeling\/compositing.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Currently, as well as her visual poetry work, she writes online content and a blog for Intel. Audri was an Adjunct professor at Woodbury University, Otis School of Animation, a founding member of the Los Angeles Abstract Film Group, founder of the Hybrid Reality Studio(dedicated to creating VR content) a board member of the Iota Center and she is also an exhibiting member of the LA Art Lab. In 2011 Audri became a resident artist of Vortex Immersion Media and the c3: CreateLAB.
